You will want to order your Minister Ordination Package for the state (and sometimes, the county) where the ceremony is taking place - because that is where you need to make sure you are in compliance with local policy. So - for example - if you live in Texas and the ceremony you're performing will take place in Oklahoma, you will want to select Oklahoma when purchasing your Minister Ordination Package.
We work closely with county clerks all over the country and are very familiar with the various forms and documentation needed for registration. Rest assured that every single MOP will have everything required for your successful registration in the state you select it for!
Finally, if you are performing a ceremony in a state with registration requirements - Arkansas, District of Columbia, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Louisiana, Minnesota, Nevada, New Hampshire, New York (City), Ohio, Oklahoma, Puerto Rico, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia - we highly recommend ordering your Minister Ordination Package approximately three months prior to registration. This three month window will allow enough time to resolve any issues with delivery (if lost or damaged in the mail) or the documents themselves (such as a misspelled name).
More importantly, many county clerk's offices only accept credentials dated within 90 days, so ordering too far in advance can still leave you scrambling trying to obtain current documentation at the last minute.
